Commissioning

6.3 Information on commissioning

Explosion hazard due to incorrect infeed
The use of Power over Ethernet (PoE) is not permitted for Ex e or Ex py devices.
• Only connect the device to an Ethernet without power supply.
Unsuitable reference gas
Explosion hazard
The introduction into the OXYMAT 7 of a sample gas unsuitable for combustible media at
sample gas pressures of over 1100 hPa can lead to an explosion.
• Use only nitrogen as the reference gas.
• Make sure that the reference gas pressure is at least 2200 hPa (3200 hPa abs.) at all times.

Note
Sample gas pressure increase influences the sample gas pressure switch
At the time of delivery of an OXYMAT 7 analyzer module, the internal pressure switch for
reference gas monitoring is preset to approx. 2000 hPa (3000 hPa abs.). Changes in the sample
gas pressure in the analyzer module by more than 150 hPa require a change in the pressure
switch switching point by the same amount. The monitoring functionality of the reference gas
pressure switch is modified as a result.
• For changes to the sample gas pressure, contact the Service (Page 110).
• Have the pressure switching point of the reference gas pressure switch adjusted by a Siemens
technician or someone trained for this case.
Note
Ambient temperature
Ensure that the ambient temperature is within the permissible range during operation. The
corresponding information is available in the section "Technical specifications (Page 83)".
The technical specifications of the device can deviate outside these temperature limits.
Operability of the device is no longer ensured at deviations of more than 5 K.
Ignitable gases in the enclosure
Ignitable gases are gases with a gas concentration of more than 25% of the lower explosion limit
(LEL).
