Unpacking
1. Remove all parts from the packaging.
2. Check that all parts are present and in-
tact.

5. Before using for the
first time
FIRE HAZARD! Before turning the
device on, place it on a level, sta-
ble, dry, heat-resistant surface.
DANGER! Risk of injury
through burning!
The surfaces of the device become
very hot during operation. While
the device is in operation, only
touch the control knob|7, lid han-
dle|2 or device handles|4.
NOTE: as the appliance is supplied with a
thin film of grease, there might be a small
amount of smoke and odour the first time
it is used. This is not harmful and will stop af-
ter a short while. Please ensure adequate
ventilation during this process.
• Clean the appliance before using
it for the first time (see "Clean-
ing" on page 11)!
1. Place the appliance on a level, dry,
non-slip surface so that the appliance
can neither fall over nor slide off.
2. Stand the cooking pot|3 in the base|5.
3. Pour half a litre of water into the cook-
ing pot|3.
4. Place the lid|1 on the cooking pot|3.
5. Insert the plug into a suitable earthed
socket.
6. Turn the control knob|7 to the setting
"HIGH".
7. The indicator light|6 will come on and
the appliance will begin heating up.
8. Allow the appliance to operate switched
on for approximately 60|minutes.
9. Switch the appliance off by turning the
control knob|7 to "OFF".
10. Disconnect the mains plug.
11. Let the appliance cool down and then
clean it again. The appliance is now
ready to use.
