Tools Required

No tools are required to remove and replace hard drives from the hot swap bays.

Installation Basics

Drive Mirroring

You may choose to use hardware to mirror your boot disk in the two hot swap
bays (RAID level 1). To do this you must install an HP NetRAID card on your
PCI bus and configure the system appropriately. See Chapter 7, "Installing
Additional Boards."

Boot Device Priority

By default, the HP NetServer searches for bootable devices in the order shown
below. (This boot sequence is configurable.)
CD-ROM Drive
Floppy Disk Drive
Embedded SCSI Controller, starting with SCSI ID 0
PCI Slots in the order 3, 2, and 1
On each controller, the server scans for a boot device starting at device ID 0 and
works up from there. The controller is always SCSI ID 7.
NOTE
This boot order can be changed using the SETUP utility (press
[F2] during the boot process).
