LPCM OUTPUT: Pulse Code Modulation

The Pulse Code Modulation is a process which converts an analogue signal to a digital signal or into binary code. It
s used for audio- and video signals.
In the menu item LPCM OUTPUT you can select between two sampling rate - 48 KHz and 96 KHz.
In general the following rule applies – the higher the audio reduction rate of the sampling rate, the better the
sound quality.

DOLBY DIGITAL SETUP: Dolby Digital Settings

In the menu item DOLBY DIGITAL SETUP there are two subitems: DUAL MONO and DYNAMIC.

DUAL MONO: Left and right audio output

In the DUAL MONO menu item, you can set the mode for the left and right audio output.
The following options are available:
• STEREO: Select this option, to transmit the audio signal from the left hand channel to the left speaker and the
audio signal from the right channel to the right speaker. The sound is transmitted as stereo sound.
• L-MONO: Select this option to transmit the audio signal from the left channel to the two (left and right) speak-
ers. The sound is transmitted as mono sound.
• MONO R: Select this option, to transmit the audio signal from the right channel to the two (left and right)
speakers. The sound is transmitted as mono sound.
• MIX MONO: Select this Option, to mix the audio signal from the left and right channel and to code it as a mono
audio signal. The same audio signal is carried by the two speakers.

DYNAMIC: Dynamic Range

In this menu item you can set the compression of the audio playback, without compromising the sound quality. The
compression of the dynamic range is only possible for DVD discs which use DOLBY-DIGITAL.
You can select one of the following settings:
• OFF (off): Select this option to amplify low frequency audio signals and to increase the volume. The level of the
audio signal is at its maximum.
• Settings between FULL and OFF: If you select this option, the audible audio signals are compressed at the end of
the DOLBY DIGITAL audio spectrum.
• FULL: If you select this option, all audio signals, regardless of their frequency, are clearly audible and within the
DOLBY DIGITAL Dynamic range.

EQUALIZER

In the EQUALIZER menu item, there are four subitems: SOUND MODE, BASS BOOST, SUPER BASS and TREBLE
BOOST.

SOUND MODE: Sound effects

In the SOUND MODE menu item you can select one of the following symmetry sound effects: OFF: Select this
option to switch all sound effects ROCK (Rock Music), POP (Pop Music), LIVE (Live Performance), DANCE (Dance),
TECHNO (Techno Music), CLASSIC (Classical Music) and SOFT (Soft Music).

BASS BOOST:

In the BASS BOOST option you can boost the bass, if you select the ON option. If you select the OFF option, the
bass remains within the normal sound frequency range.
