2.6 Countermeasures Against Mechanical Trouble (For MC-R400U)

1. How to remove a disc which remains in the drive
(1) When the carrier is not located in front of the drive
1 Set the manual mode, then set the sub-mode to [00] or
[01] using the 10-key, and press the numeric key 2 to
move the carrier close to the upper or lower limit.
2 Ensure that the disc is not rotating.
3 Using a screwdriver or thin rod, push the drive eject lever
in to eject the drive thus making it possible for the tray to
be pulled out.
(Caution) When removing the disc, be careful not to leave fin-
gerprints or to otherwise damage the recording sur-
face (underside) of the disc.
(2) When the carrier is located in front of the drive
1 Set the manual mode. If the tray lock lever on the carrier
mechanism is projected, set the sub-mode to [02] using
the 10-key and press the numeric key 2 to release the
tray lock.
2 Set the sub-mode to [00] or [01] using the 10-key, then
press the numeric key 2 to move the carrier.
3 Take out the tray by performing the steps described in
(1).
2. Caution for manual servicing operation
1 While the tray lock lever is projected, the carrier cannot
be moved up or down in the carrier mechanism. Perform
the operations described in section 1- (2) - 1 above.
2 If the loader of the drive is located in the deep and will
not come out, pull it while slightly lifting the claw on top
of the drive. (Pay attention not to transform the claw.)
