Installing the Touch Pad Drivers (Windows 98)

Touch pad drivers and associated utilities allow you to use and customize the inte-
grated touch pad or external mouse. To install these drivers, perform the following
steps.

does not have a track stick. If your computer has a track stick, follow the
instructions in the previous section, "Installing the DualPoint Integrated
Pointing Device Drivers."
1.
Save your work in all open application programs because you will need to restart
your computer at the end of this procedure to complete the installation.
2.
Insert the System Utilities CD into the CD-ROM drive.
3.
Click the Start button, and then click Run.
The Run dialog box appears.
4.
Type x:\win98\touchpad\single\setup, where x is the drive letter of your
CD-ROM drive, and click OK or press <Enter>.
5.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
6.
After the files are copied to your hard-disk drive, remove the System Software CD
from the CD-ROM drive, and click Finish to restart your computer.

Installing Softex BayManager (Windows 98)

The Softex BayManager software allows you to swap media bay devices without shut-
ting down and rebooting your computer. For example, you can boot your computer
with the diskette drive installed and then, using the Softex BayManager software,
safely remove the diskette drive and install a CD-ROM drive. The computer automati-
cally recognizes the CD-ROM drive.
To install Softex BayManager, perform the following steps:
1.
If the computer is docked, undock it. For instructions, see your Advanced Port
Replicator User's Guide.
2.
Make sure that the CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or CD-RW drive is installed in the
modular or media bay.
3.
Turn on the computer and insert the System Software CD into your CD-ROM or
DVD-ROM drive.
4.
Click the Start button, and then click Run.
The Run dialog box appears.
5.
Type x:\win98\baymgr\setup, where x is the drive letter of your CD-ROM
drive, and click OK or press <Enter>.
6.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
