Disassembling the upper case

1. Remove the bolts 1, muffler assembly
2, dowels 3 and rubber seal 4 from the
upper case 5.

2. Remove the bolts 6, muffler 7, cooling
water pipe 8, rubber damper 9 and gas-
ket 0.

3. Remove the bolts q, exhaust manifold
w, gasket e and rubber seal r.

Checking the upper case

1. Check the rubber dampers. Replace the
rubber dampers if deteriorated or
cracked.
2. Check the cooling water pipe. Replace
the cooling water pipe if deformed or cor-
roded.
3. Check the exhaust guide, exhaust mani-
fold, and muffler. Replace them if
deformed or corroded.

Assembling the upper case

1. Install the new rubber seal 1 new gasket
2, exhaust manifold 3, and bolts 4, and
then tighten the bolts to the specified
torque.
