The machine does not enter the ready state when the power is turned ON

DISABLE the function selection mode at startup by following the procedures below.
(1) Pull out the power cord and insert it again.
(2) Hold down the Home key for about 5 seconds while the machine is in the ready state.
The screen shown below is displayed on the LCD.
Memo:
If you cannot find the Home key, press the Toner key,
and the Home key lights up.
(3) Hold down the blank space at the bottom of the LCD for about 2 seconds.
The screen shown below is displayed on the LCD.
(4) Press the *, 1, 9, 3, and 7 keys on the LCD in this order.
(5) Press the 0, 0, 8, and 4 keys on the LCD in this order.
