5 Configuring
5.24 FX 8 Presetting of tool size via EPROM
Formula for calculating the data block length:
y = x + (ANPL + 1)
ANPL = Number of magazine locations
x = Number of 1st data word
y = Number of last data word
Initial setting:
In the initial setting, the function block deletes the status words of the FBs (DB 150, DW 256 -
DW266) and checks whether the DB EPROM is available. It also checks whether the contents
of the left decade of all the data words is "0" (bits 12 - 15), the only permissible value is FFh
"Synchronization pattern".
If any errors are detected, the PLC is stopped!
Operation:
The function block checks whether the DLx in the DB EPROM contains the synchronization
pattern "FF". It is checked whether the magazine which is to be configured is available and
whether it is a fictitious magazine.
The function block checks whether a tool size has already been entered at every magazine
tool location (check data words for "0"; 50 DW/cycle).
If no error is detected, the tool size is preset in the next PLC cycle.
If an error is detected, the error output of the FB is set and an error number is stored in DBZW
DW 256.
Presetting:
To preset the tool size, the current # magazine locations are entered in DBZW in DW 47 -
DW 78. The current magazine length must not exceed the set length; (# locations from
EPROM # locations from magazine).
