Safety guidelines

Fire & Security Products
Siemens Building Technologies Group
Commissioning work may only be carried out by specially trained technicians.
The safety regulations, especially as regards working on live electrical equipment,
must be strictly observed.
Dangerous voltages exist in the following modules:
in the power source circuit via the mains terminals, power unit, surge protector (if
installed).
External voltage may occur in the following modules:
relay module Z3B171 for fire control installations
control module E3G050
Modules and connections with external voltage must be identified with a "Danger! High
voltage!" label.
Touching the battery connections can be dangerous under certain circumstances.
The power supply leads and the control unit ground must be installed according to local
regulations.
Do not apply the supply voltage until the "first switch-on".
Never short-circuit the battery terminals. Contact of battery terminals with housing
components must be avoided.
During commissioning and testing work ensure that
inadvertent activation of remote transmission devices is prevented,
the fire department is informed before test activation of remote transmission equip-
ment,
the activation of fire control installations is blocked for safety purposes until they are
tested and again until the system has been handed over to the customer,
it is impossible for fire control installations to be activated in error as this can lead to
greater economic damage,
upon the activation of non-Cerberus equipment, the person responsible is present.
During work in areas where danger of explosion exists, the appropriate safety precau-
tions must be taken.
