2.2.4 Updating the firmware

The following describes the procedure for updating the Remote Service Board firmware.
When updating the firmware, also make the initial setups.
Be sure to excute this procedure.
■Updating procedure
[When using the Drivers CD or the ServerWizard CD]
1. Turn the server unit ON, press the EJECT button on the CD-ROM drive during
POST processing (while RAM module check messages, for example, are being
displayed) and insert Drivers CD or ServerWizard CD in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Select "Basic (RAIDUTIL)" from the menu that is displayed, and press the [Enter]
key.
MS-DOS is started up.
3. Insert Remote Service Board Utility provided with this product into the floppy disk
drive on the server unit.
4. Update the firmware.
Enter the following command:
b: flashrsb
\
5. Check that the update has ended.
When the update ends normally, the following message is displayed:
OK: Firmware flash successfully finished
If the update files, the following message is displayed:
ERROR: Firmware flash failed
6. When the update has ended normally, check the firmware version. The newly
updated version is displayed in the message that appears when processing is started.
MESSAGE: Flash firmware : Version x.x.x.xx
Enter the following command. For details on how to reference the version, see
"Appendix 1.3 Referencing the Version" in this manual.
