Chapter 2 Mounting This Product
[When using the ServerStart CD]
1. Insert the "Hardware Configuration Tool Boot Floppy" in the floppy disk drive, and
turn on the server.
2. Select "Basic (RAIDUTIL)" from the menu that is displayed, and press the [Enter]
key.
MS-DOS is started up.
3. Insert Remote Service Board Utility provided with this product into the floppy disk
drive on the server unit.
4. Update the firmware.
Enter the following command:
b: flashrsb
\
5. Check that the update has ended.
When the update ends normally, the following message is displayed:
OK: Firmware flash successfully finished
If the update files, the following message is displayed:
ERROR: Firmware flash failed
6. When the update has ended normally, check the firmware version. The newly
updated version is displayed in the message that appears when processing is started.
MESSAGE: Flash firmware : Version x.x.x.xx
Enter the following command. For details on how to reference the version, see
"Appendix 1.3 Referencing the Version" in this manual.
b: sptool

■Re-update Procedure
If the firmware update fails, re-update the firmware. If the server no longer starts up,
perform the following.
1. Turn the server and peripherals off, and disconnect the power cable from the server.
2. Disconnect the AC adapter from the Remote Service Board.
3. Wait at least ten seconds before reconnecting the AC adapter to the Remote Service
Board.
4. Connect the power cable to the server, and turn on the server and peripherals.
5. Re-update the software.
If this product does not function normally after performing the above procedure, remove
this product and contact a Fujitsu service engineer.
