Chapter 6 Removing This Product

This chapter describes the procedure for removing the remote service board.

■Removal procedure
1. Turn OFF the server unit and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cable
from the server unit.
2. Disconnect the AC adapter from the remote service board.
Disconnect the LAN cable or modem if connected.
3. Remove the server unit covers, and remove the remote service board cables and
cables for this product from the server unit.
4. Attach the slot covers that you have kept stored, and fix them in position with clips.
5. Attach the server unit covers that you removed in step 3.

Point
ServerView (including device driver) and RemoteControlService need not be
uninstalled even if the remote service board has been removed.
Electric shock
Before you remove the remote service board, turn OFF the
server unit and peripheral devices, and disconnect the
power cable from the server unit. Also, disconnect the AC
adapter from the remote service board.
Failure to do so might cause electric shock.
Instructions
・ When removing or attaching the covers on the server
unit, follow the instructions in the User's Manual
provided with the server unit.
・ The remote service board is easily affected by static
electricity. Either
electroconductive pad, or put it in its packing bag
immediately after it is removed or immediately before it
is handled.
