Chapter 2 Preparations
1.16.1 Installation
Take the steps below to install fan unit.
(1)
Installing additional fan when installing additional processor (CPU)
1.
Refer to Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.
2.
Pull out the dummy fan.
3.
Locate the slot to install an additional fan (FAN 4R).
4.
Insert the fan unit straight into the additional fan slot until it locks with clicking sound.

Installing additional fan when configuring redundant fan system
1.
Refer to Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.
2.
Locate the slot to install an additional fan.
With 16x 2.5-inch Drive Model:
In 1-CPU configuration: Install redundant fan units in slots FAN 1F to 3F, and 5F.
In 2-CPU configuration: Install redundant fan units in slots FAN 1F to 5F.
3.
Insert the fan unit straight into the additional fan slot until it locks with clicking sound.

Keep the dummy fan for future use.
