6-8. STANDBY OPERATIONS AND POWER SAVING
MODE IN THE EVENT OF AN ABNORMALITY
In some cases, it may not be possible to continue in normal
operation mode due to the condition of the VTR. The deck
is equipped with various sensors to detect such conditions.
A warning produced by the detecting signal is displayed on
the screen, and if necessary, the deck is made to shift
automatically into the safe standby mode.
Refer to section 6-1 O in the latter part of this manual for the
types of warning display.
Moreover, if the PAUSE, STI LL or S LOW mode continues
for 5 minutes, the deck will automatically shift into one of the
following modes to prevent friction between the tape and
the mechanism.
