Note for removing the Lower Cabinet of the SL-5500
When removing the Lower Cabinet, do not shake the Lower Cabinet
right and left. If it should be shaken with an excessive force, the boss on
the Lower Cabinet would hit and damage component parts (L601,
L602) on the main PWB unit.
Lower Cabinet
CAUTION
When disassembling the lower cabinet, be sure to check and confirm
visually (with a magnifying glass) that the components (L601, L602) are
normally soldered on the main PWB unit.

[NOTE FOR ASSEMBLY]
1. Battery Take-Out Ribbon attachment
(1) Clean and remove oil from with IPA from the ribbon attachment
sections (2 positions) of the Lower Cabinet.
(2) Attach the Battery Take-Out Ribbon to the inside of the Battery
Storage section.
(3) Pass the Battery Take-Out Ribbon through the slit of the Lower
Cabinet and wind it around.
(4) Fold the Battery Take-Out Ribbon, and attach the Duplex Tape
of the other half of the ribbon to the outside of the Battery Stor-
age section.
(5) Press the attachment section to assure attachment.
Note: After attachment, remove oil from the attachment section
in order to prevent the ribbon from coming off.
Insert the Battery Take-Out
Ribbon into the slit.
Deflection of the ribbon after attachment
a) Deflection toward inside of the set:
Within 1.0mm
b) Deflection toward outside of the set:
Not allowed.
2. Assembly of the Battery Replacement Switch and the IR Filter and
the Nut Cushion
(1) Attach the Battery Replacement Switch 2 to the Lower Cabinet
1.
(2) When attaching the Lower Cabinet, be sure to set the Battery
Replacement Switch 2 to the LOCK position. If not, the Battery
Replacement Switch may break.
