Sending an additional parameter to the G3 using super user mode:
This is an example of setting Acceleration Time #1 through Tosline F10.
1)
If you have not already done so, perform steps 1, 2 and 3 from the above example.
2)
Looking at page 66 in the September 1996 RS485 Communications Manual, it can be seen that the
Acceleration Time #1 is at address H03C6.
3)
Set address 36E to C6. This is the low byte of H03C6.
4)
Set address 36F to 03. This is the high byte of H03C6.
5)
Acceleration Time #1 can now be set by register LW14 in the PLC.
Miscellaneous:
Data sent to the G3 by the PLC is stored in the G3's RAM, not in the EEPROM.
Four standoffs are used to mount the G3 Tosline F10 option card. If additional standoffs are needed,
please contact inverter marketing and reference standoff number 42645--9/16".
When using the above super user mode settings, at least 6 LW registers will be used by the G3. Even if
a parameter is not being monitored, zero will be stored in the register. Therefore, if it is necessary to
minimize the number of LW registers used by the G3, do not add parameters by super user mode, and
reduce the value of F10 Monitor Output and/or F10 Command Input.
When communication parameters are changed in the G3, it is generally necessary to reset the drive for
the changes to take effect.
With G3 CPU versions 120 and above, an option ROM is not needed to enable Tosline F10
communications. If you receive an option ROM with your G3 Tosline F10 card, do not use it. This ROM
is made to operate with the A5 inverter, and will cause problems in the G3.
