7.7 Connecting the circulating oil lubrication or external oil
cooling
The planetary gearbox is equipped with connections for a circulating oil lubrication.
The planetary gearbox may only be operated in a closed oil cooling circuit (a
separate oil cooling circuit is required for each gearbox in the vehicle). For
information on the permissible operating conditions, refer to the planetary gearbox
dimensioned drawing (see table) in the appendix D "Technical data / Drawings" of
the material number-specific operating instructions.
The machine or vehicle manufacturer ensures specification conformity and reliability
of the external oil cooling. For defects on connections and any other consequences
resulting therefrom, Rexroth assumes no liability for material defects and is
exempted from any claims made by third parties.
To connect the circulating oil lubrication to the oil cooling system

Make sure that the installation point is free of dirt and foreign substances. Make
sure that neither dirt nor foreign substances penetrate outlet / inlet connections
to/from the oil cooler. The "oil cooler inlet / outlet" connections are shown and
labeled in the planetary gearbox dimensioned drawing in Appendix D "Technical
data / drawings" of the material number-specific operating instructions.

Remove the screw plug at the "oil inlet from the oil cooler" connection 10 of the
planetary gearbox (see figure beside)

Remove the screw plug at the "oil outlet to the oil cooler" connection 11 of the
planetary gearbox (see figure beside)

Connect the oil cooling lines to the inlet and return connections 10 and 11 of the
planetary gearbox.

Connect the connections according to the oil cooling diagram of the machine or
vehicle manufacturer to the oil cooling system.
Risk of damaging the planetary gearbox!
A planetary gearbox used without oil pump will cause its failure!
Install an external oil pump before commissioning the planetary gearbox!
Observe the technical data for the use of an external oil pump on the
dimensioned drawing in Appendix D "Technical data / drawings" in the material
number-specific operating instructions
