System Configuration
vSphere accesses VVOLs through Protocol Endpoints (PE). The server recognizes PEs as logical vol-
umes. VVOLs are created in a pool called a storage container. Storage containers and VVOLs corre-
spond to FTRPs and FTVs of the ETERNUS DX.

PEs are control volumes to integrally manage multiple VVOLs.

Storage Container (VVOL Datastore)
Storage containers are pools for creating VVOLs. The ETERNUS DX uses FTRPs as storage contain-
ers. Multiple storage containers can be created in the ETERNUS DX.

VVOL
VVOLs are logical volumes that are created in FTRPs. Multiple VVOLs can be created in a storage
container.
