Servicing the Fuel Filter

Service Interval: Every 400 hours
Servicing the Fuel Filter
Models 31900 and 31901
1.
Rotate the fuel-valve lever to the O
(Figure
59).
2.
Clean the area around the fuel-filter head
(Figure
59).

Remove the filter and clean the filter head
mounting surface
4.
Lubricate the filter gasket with clean lubricating
engine oil; refer to the engine owner's manual
for additional information.
5.
Install the dry filter canister by hand until the
gasket contacts the filter head, then rotate it an
additional 1/2 turn.
6.
Rotate the fuel-valve lever to the O
(Figure
59).
7.
Start the engine and check for fuel leaks around
the filter head.
