SETUP UTILITY

The NEC Versa 2600 Setup program lets you view and set system parameters. Setup also in-
cludes security features that protect your system from unauthorized use.
Use Setup to

set the current time and date
T
customize your operating system to reflect your computer hardware
T
secure your system with a password
T
balance your performance needs with power conservation.

WHAT TO DO
Start the SCU. Check that the disk type
specified is "Auto." If not change it to Auto
under the Hard Disk option in the Standard
menu. Exit and save. If a problem still exists,
the hard disk might need repair.
Start the SCU. Exit and save to update the
parameters.
If problems continue, the hard disk controller
might need repair.
The keyboard might need repair.
The keyboard might need repair.
The keyboard might need repair.
A key is jammed. Remove any obstructions.
If the error message remains, the keyboard
might need professional cleaning or repair.
NOTE
If a display related error occurs, it is in-
dicated by beeps. Display related errors usually
require a system board replacement.
