3. Remove the gasket.
4. Remove the CD-ROM and heat shield by lifting straight up from the assembly.
To remove the CD-ROM from the heat shield, do the following.

turn the CD-ROM and heat shield assembly so the bottom of the CD-ROM is
facing up with the door pointing towards you.
T
remove three screws on the left side and two on the right of the CD-ROM.
T
removing the CD-ROM reader by sliding it out of the heat shield.

Bridge Battery and Diskette and Hard Drive Connector Board

Remove the Bridge Battery or Connector Board as follows:
1. Remove the following as previously described:

Keyboard
T
Heat Sink
T
LCD Assembly
T
CD-ROM Reader and Heat Shield
Remove the Bridge Battery as follows.

Remove the four screw at the front of the black insulator sheet
T
Lift the black insulator sheet up at the left front corner and at the same time
slide the insulator sheet out and way from the front left corner of the FDD
and HDD assembly. Fold back the insulator sheet.
T
Locate the cable on the Bridge Battery.
T
Disconnect the cable for Bridge Battery from connector on the Main Board.
T
Remove the Bridge Battery from the base unit.
