Troubleshooting
Problem
Battery power does not last long
System halts during boot sequence
I/O processing malfunctions
Diskette drive does not work
Hard disk drive malfunction
Memory malfunction
External keyboard or PS/2 mouse
doesn't work

Corrective Actions
Make sure that power management features are
enabled.
Recharge the battery pack for 1½ hours before
using again.
Replace the battery pack.
Check the condition of selected boot device
(diskette or hard disk) for bad boot track or
incorrect OS files.
Try booting from a new bootable diskette and
recopy or repartition hard disk.
Check for any BIOS error messages on the
screen.
Replace the main board.
Check the connections of all internal devices.
Replace the main board.
Check that the diskette drive cable is connected
properly.
See diskette type is correct and not faulty.
Replace the diskette drive.
Replace the main board.
Check if hard disk drive is set properly on
CMOS.
Check if disk drive is good.
Replace the main board.
Check that the memory module is inserted
properly.
Replace the memory card.
Replace the main board.
Check that the keyboard or mouse is connected
properly. Power off system first before plugging
in the device.
Replace the keyboard or mouse.
Replace the main board.
