Power Unit Slot
IMPORTANT:
the Additional Power Unit (N8405-012/012F). The service personnel
should read and follow instructions described in the "Hardware
Installation and Upgrade Guide".

The power unit slots on the rear of the blade assembly unit can contain up to four power supply
units. Thus, three optional power units can be additionally installed.
Install the additional power unit in the ascending order (from bottom to top slots).

To install three or more CPU blades in the Blade Assembly Unit, two or more power unit are
required. To install five or more CPU blades, three or more power units are required.
IMPORTANT:
The power shortage error is detected when:
– three or more CPU blades are installed in the Blade Assembly
Unit with only a single power unit installed
– five or more CPU blades are installed in the Blade Assembly Unit
with only two power units installed
When a power shortage error occurs, powering on a CPU blade in
the DC power-off status does not turn on the DC power. If NEC
ESMPRO Agent is installed, the OS is automatically shutdown at
the occurrence of the power shortage error.
