separate folder from the mailbox owner's primary inbox. Messages are synchronized with IPedge
Messaging.
Messaging as a POP Server
This is an independent mail server configuration where voice messages are displayed in the
mailbox owner's primary inbox. Messages are not synchronized.
Msync
Msync is actually a Microsoft® Exchange Web Services connector, which allows the IPedge
system to access a Microsoft Exchange Server, in order to manage IPedge Messaging users' voice
and fax messages within the email message store without requiring them to have to enter and
maintain their email log on credentials within Messaging. Msync uses a service account to log into
the Active Directory, and therefore does not require individual users to enter their mail credentials
Msync provides the following capabilities:
• Stores new voice / fax messages in a user's inbox as they are received in IPedge Messaging.
• Change message status to read in the email client when it is saved through the Messaging
Telephone User Interface (TUI).
• Deletes a message from the email inbox when it is deleted using the TUI.
• Changes the message status to saved on the TUI when a message is opened on the email client.
• Changes message status to delete on the TUI when a message is deleted from the inbox of the
email client.
• Voice messages that are forwarded using email from one user to another will be received as
voice messages in Messaging.
• Reading / Saving / Deleting email messages.
Enhanced Msync Feature
A feature provided by Enhanced Msync is Presence. Presence allows you to define a schedule
based on Presence status in Microsoft Outlook. For this option to be effective, the system must
have the Msync connector activated and connected to Microsoft Exchange. Available states are:
Free, Busy, Out Of Office, and Out Of Office Assistant (Automatic replies).
Msync requires the minimum software requirement for the host Exchange server to be one of the
following configurations:
• Microsoft Exchange 2007 SP1 (Running on Windows 2008 SP2 64-bit)
• Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP1 (Running on Windows 2008 R2 standard 64-bit)
• Standard Msync requires IPedge Messaging versions: 10.5.4.11 and higher
• Enhanced Msync requires IPedge Messaging versions: 10.5.4.24 and higher.
