(2) Setting method
Since the extended data register (D) and extended link register (W) use the file register area, data must be set for
both the file register setting and the device setting.
(a) File register setting
Select "Use the following file." in the PLC file tab of the PLC parameter dialog box, and do the setting as shown
below. The "Use the same file name as the program." cannot be selected.

The size of file register is the total number of points for the file register (ZR), extended data register (D), and extended
link register (W). Set the size so that the total number of points will be less than the free space of memory specified as a
storage location. The free space can be checked in the Confirm Memory Size window using a programming tool.
