SINAMICS S120 Cabinet Modules
Engineering Information
The control system integrated in the Heat Exchanger Module is wired to a TM31 Terminal Module that must be
connected by a DRIVE-CLiQ cable to the (or to one) Control Unit of the S120 drive line-up. This allows the pump in
the Heat Exchanger Module to be controlled via the (or one of the) Control Unit(s) of the S120 drive line-up. Any
alarms or faults issued by the integrated control system in the Heat Exchanger Module are transferred as a group
alarm or group fault to the appropriate Control Unit of the S120 drive line-up.
In S120 drive line-ups with one Control Unit for the Infeed and one or more Control Units for the connected Motor
Modules, it is advisable to connect the control system in the Heat Exchanger Module to the Infeed's Control Unit. The
pump in the Heat Exchanger Module can then be switched on, switched off and monitored together with the Infeed of
the S120 drive line-up.
Required supply voltages for Heat Exchanger Modules
● Line voltage for the pump and the power supply unit of the integrated control system:
-
380 V -10 % – 415 V +10 % 3AC / 50 Hz
or
-
660 V -10 % – 690 V +10 % 3AC / 50/60 Hz
● Auxiliary voltage for the electronic circuit in the Heat Exchanger Module:
This can be supplied either by the internal power supply unit or via the auxiliary voltage supply system
of the S120 Cabinet Modules (the latter option is recommended).
When the electronic circuit is connected to the auxiliary voltage supply system of the S120 Cabinet
Modules, the following auxiliary power must be provided:
-
24 V DC (20.4 V ... 28.8 V)
Current consumption and power consumption of the Heat Exchanger Module
Cooling capacity (rated cooling power)
380 V -10 % – 415 V +10 % 3AC / 50 Hz
Current consumption
• Operating current, total, 400 V 3AC / 50 Hz
• Maximum starting current
• Electronics current, 24 V DC
Power consumption, maximum 50 Hz
660 V -10 % – 690 V +10 % 3AC / 50/60 Hz
Current consumption
• Operating current, total, 690 V 3AC / 50/60 Hz
• Maximum starting current
• Electronics current, 24 V DC
Power consumption, maximum 50/60 Hz
Options for Heat Exchanger Modules
Two options are available for Heat Exchanger Modules.
● W01: Partially redundant cooling unit with 2 pumps and 1 stainless steel plate heat exchanger
● W20: Raw water connection from below

7.3.10 Braking Modules

No liquid-cooled Braking Modules are currently available in the liquid-cooled SINAMICS S120 Cabinet Modules
range. If Braking Modules are required, the following options are available on request:
·
Use of air-cooled built-in Braking Modules from the SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES range
(20-second braking power approximately 200 kW / continuous braking power approximately 50 KW)
·
Use of air-cooled Central Braking Modules from the SINAMICS S120 Cabinet Modules range
(see "Air-cooled SINAMICS S120 Cabinet Modules", section "Central Braking Modules")
·
Use of liquid-cooled Motor Modules operated as 3-phase Braking Modules
