1.3.4 ADF Performance Test (Maintenance mode 08)

< Function >
The function counts the documents fed by the automatic document feeder (ADF) and displays
the count on the LCD for checking the ADF performance.
< Operating Procedure >
(1) Set documents on the ADF unit.
The "ADF. READY" appears on the LCD.
(2) Press the 0 and 8 keys in this order in the initial stage of the maintenance mode.
The machine feeds the documents in and out while counting them and displaying " ADF
CHECK P.** " on the LCD. (** shows the current count.)
(3) Press the Stop key to return the machine to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.
Note: If no document is set on the ADF, the machine displays "NO DOCUMENT" on the
LCD and returns to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.

1.3.5 Printout of Test Pattern (Maintenance mode 09)

< Function >
This function prints out a test pattern (Print Quality Check sheet) to allow the service personnel
to check the print quality, together with the serial number.
If any print quality problem is found, use

to perform head cleaning.
< Operating Procedure >
(1) Press the 0 and 9 keys in this order in the initial stage of the maintenance mode.
The machine displays "PRINTING" on the LCD and prints out a test pattern.
If no recording paper is loaded in the paper tray, printing will be canceled.
(2) Upon completion of printing, the machine returns to the initial stage of the maintenance
mode.
