Download software (System Firmware)
Note: When existing system requires software upgrade, first, logon to the Control Unit
using a compatible EBLWin (or WinG3) software version with the existing firmware
version in FT1020G3 then perform SSD backup to save the existing Site Specific Data
file. This must be performed prior to any software download.
The latest software version of the EBL512 G3 software
delivery. Due to continual development and improvement, different S/W versions may be
found.
The valid (current) S/W version for the main board 5010 and the MMI board 5011 is shown
in menu H4/U8 (Information) or via EBLWin (Control Unit pop-up menu; Software
version...).
FT1020G3 can be upgraded with a new S/W version, downloaded on site via EBLWin as
well as the display units 1728, 1736. See the 1728 and 1736 manuals respectively.

Single Control Unit (CIE.)
Note: Before downloading new software in existing system, SSD
be performed using compatible Win and EBL software then saved in the new version of
EBLWin.
A standard single CIE should not have a TLON connection board 5090 mounted. (When a
CIE has a TLON connection boards 5090 mounted, it is expected to be one CIE. in a TLON
network and TLON network programming is required).

The .BIN file to be downloaded contains the software for the main board 5010, software for
the MMI board 5011 and a text file, i.e. there is one BIN file for each convention.

Establish communications between PC and CIE for software download
Note: Brooks strongly recommends using the USB isolator device when you connect your
PC to the Control Unit.
The following procedures must be performed to establish the communications between the
PC and the control panel:
1. Plug in the USB dongle into a USB port on the PC.
2. Connect the PC to the CIE using the USB connector.
3. Start EBLWin, (Do not logon).
4. In the "Tools" menu, select "Download Software..." to open the dialog box and do
the required settings.
5. Select the path and the software file name, e.g. Australian_EBL512G3_220.BIN
(220 = version 2.2.0).
6. Mark the checkbox "No MMI board" if the control panel is not fitted with front
display, i.e. the MMI software and the text file will not be downloaded.
7. Select the COM port to be used on your PC
The software (firmware) is the system software and always uses "EBL" abbreviation.

It is highly recommended to make a copy of the SSD file in its original version as well.

To logon to the control unit or to download software, an EBLWin key (5094) is required in a PC spare USB port.

If several USB ports are used on your PC, and you want to find which COM port is connected to the panel, go to Device Manger
and look for EBL G3 Serial Port (COM#) under Ports (COM & LPT). # will be the COM port number.
On site, new S/W can be downloaded via EBLWin.
