Removing the water pump and shift
rod
1. Remove the water pump housing a,
dowels b, O-ring c, impeller d, and
Woodruff key e.

2. Remove the cover f, and then remove
the outer plate cartridge g and gasket
h.
3. Remove the seal plate i, rubber seal j,
and plate k.

4. Set the gear shift to the N position.

5. Remove the plate m, oil seal n, O-ring
o, and shift rod p.

TIP:
To remove the shift rod p, lift it up slightly,
and then turn the shift rod p 90° counter-
clockwise to pull it up.
Disassembling the water pump

1. Remove the insert cartridge a and O-
ring b.

2. Remove the cover c and oil seals d.
