Auto Cleaning Function

Auto cleaning function required for the tape streamer
The tape streamer requires periodic cleaning using a cleaning tape.
When the auto cleaning function is activated, the DMS-B9 automatically
inserts a cleaning cassette into the tape streamer after reading and writing
on the inserted cassette are finished and returning the cassette to the bin
when the specified operation time is reached during read and write
operations. This makes the operation time of the cassette move command
longer by the cleaning time.
For details on cleaning the tape streamer, refer to the operation manual furnished
with the tape streamer.
The auto cleaning function is turned ON or OFF with bit 2 of the software
switch (CSTM).
Bit 2: Auto Cleaning mode setting required for the tape streamer
0: OFF
1: ON
When the auto cleaning function is set to ON, the following operation will
be executed when the specified operation time is reached during read and
write operations.

A cleaning tape is automatically inserted in the tape streamer.

When the cleaning tape is ejected, it is returned to the original bin.
Notes
• Insert a cleaning tape in the bin designated with the software switch.
• When the tape streamer requires cleaning, a warning "
right on the LCD panel independent of the setting of this function.
• If a cleaning tape cannot be found in the designated bin or a cleaning tape
was found in the bin but cleaning failed (for example, if the cleaning tape
has been used to its end), a warning "
