In the duplex configuration of model 2000, the core part (basic unit) is configured as
the active-standby system (duplex system) while G2 I/O is for the single
configuration. In the active-standby system, the standby controller group having
identical configuration with the active controller group takes over the operation in
case that a failure occurs in the active group.
S2 in duplex configuration is composed of two basic units and one or more
expansion units.
The basic unit consists of a power supply module, station module containing the
controller, interface module (IF619) for duplex system, and expansion interface
(IF661). S2PU82 and S2PU72D are provided for use in the duplex system. The G2 I/
O module is not available for the duplex system.
The first layer expansion unit consists of a power supply module, expansion
duplexing interface (IF658) and G2 I/O module, and each of the second and
subsequent layer expansion units is composed of a power supply module, expansion
interface (IF661) and G2 I/O module.
Each of the expansion interfaces is connected with an expansion cable. A maximum
of three expansion units can be connected.
