Operation Mode Switch

The toggle switch located on the front panel of the S2 CPU module can be used for
starting and stopping the system.

As shown in the above table, initial load (programs are transferred from the flash ROM to
RAM) is performed only when both DSW-4 and DSW-1 are off.
Therefore, turn off DSW-4 and DSW-1 when S2 is used without mounting the battery.
Supplementary
(1) The operation mode switch is set to HALT at the factory.
(2) The RUN mode with DSW-4 set to ON is called "P-RUN" in which the protect function is
enabled to inhibit user programs to be written in.
(3) Normally the programming is activated in the HALT mode.
(4) For details of the operation mode, see "S2 User's Manual - Functions" or "S2 User's
Manual - Duplex System Configuration".
(5) The RAM is backed up by both internal capacitor and built-in battery of the S2. When they
go down and the S2 can't keep retentive area in the RAM, CPU checks user program BCC.
CPU registers an error if an error is occurred.
