Battery replacement procedure

S2 CPU holds program memory, data memory and calendar data using the battery
contained in the battery module (GBT611*AS) in RAM operation mode, and holds data
memory and calendar data in the same way in ROM operation mode.
The lithium battery used in S2 has little self-discharge and is resistant to a wide range of
temperatures. There is no need to worry about the continuity of operation with this battery
throughout its serviceable life even though external power is cut for an extended period
of time.
The date of mounting is written on the battery cover of the CPU module. When to replace
the battery depends on the module type and operation environments. Check the date of
mounting, and replace the battery in the procedure described below by referring to the
table in 5.4.2 Battery replacement preiod.
A LED indicating the battery status is installed on the front of the CPU module. It lights
when the battery is normal. If the battery life has come to an end, this LED blinks or goes
off. Replace the battery with the stocked battery (it is recommended not to turn off power
until the battery is replaced to protect programs and data).
Replace the battery operation finish whithin 3 minute.
(1) Insert a falt driver in the ∇
part to press upwards the
battery cover for removal.
(2) Hold the tag of the battery
module and pull it towards
yourself.
(3) Hold the tag of a new battery
module.
