Task

SIMOCRANE Drive-Based Technology is a crane technology solution for mid-
performance crane applications with SINAMICS S120 inverters. SIMOCRANE
Drive-Based Technology offers a compact functional scope with features which
focus on fulfilling requirements for a mid-performance market, with highlights being
fast commissioning and high customizability.
The mid-performance industrial crane market has developed further at a fast rate.
As a consequence, in recent years the need for additional functionality for mid-
performance cranes has been realized. With the application DCC add-on of the
ExtendedCraneDCC for SIMOCRANE Drive-Based Technology, Siemens crane
technology better meets the challenges of this market.
The ExtendedCraneDCC application DCC add-on offers more functionality all
within the SINAMICS environment, utilizing SIMOCRANE Drive-Based
Technology's already existing functionality. The ExtendedCraneDCC offers a high
degree of flexibility because it is built on a modular approach which allows for
selection of only desired functionality.
The new mid-performance crane solution contained on the application DCC add-on
ExtendedCraneDCC is not meant to replace SIMOCRANE Drive-Based
Technology. In fact, the ExtendedCraneDCC requires SIMOCRANE Drive-Based
Technology to operate. This solution perfectly enhances the functionality of the
already existing mid-performance solution.
