Connecting the 24 V DC power supply

The Control Interface Module (CIM) and Expansion Module EM4315 are supplied from the
external 24 V DC power supply. Use a power supply unit which conforms to IEC 60536,
protection class III (PELV). Power supply units from the SITOP product line are suitable, for
example.
Both the CIM and the EM4315 can supply up to 8 POMs through the HCS system interface.
Dimensioning of the 24 V power supply
You can calculate the 24 V power supply using the following formula:
Minimum current consumption = 100 mA + number of POMs • 250 mA.
Example:
To supply a CIM PROFINET and 6 connected POMs, the 24 V power supply must be able to
deliver a current of at least 1600 mA.
