Connecting the 24 V DC power supply
The power supply of the Central Interface Module (CIM) is drawn from the external 24 V DC
power supply. Use a power supply unit which conforms to IEC 60536, protection class III
(PELV). Power supply units from the SITOP product line are suitable, for example.
The CIM can supply up to 24 POMs and 6 fan modules through the HCS system interface.
Dimensioning of the 24 V power supply
You can calculate the 24 V power supply using the following formula:
Minimum power drawn = 3 W + (number of POMs • 1 W) + (number of fan modules • 10 W)
Example:
Supply for an HCS 4200 comprising one rack, one CIM PROFINET, 12 connected POMs,
and 3 fan modules.
The minimum power in accordance with the formula above is 45 W, therefore the power
supply unit must deliver a current of at least 1875 mA.
NOTICE
Note: The active power input of all the connected components must not exceed 100 W in
total.
