Installation location

The SIPLUS HCS4200 heating controller is designed for stationary installation in a control
cabinet. The rack forms the "outer frame" of the heating controller that you install in the
control cabinet.
Installation location requirements
Electric shock hazard
May cause death or serious injury
In order to reliably prevent hazards for the operating personnel, the control cabinet must
satisfy the following requirements:
• Closed cabinet
• Grounded cabinet
• The control cabinet / device connection box must satisfy the regulations regarding fire-
• Boards and components on the reverse side of the rack must not come into contact with

Residual current protective device
If a residual current protective device is provided for the incoming supply, a protection device
of Type A is sufficient for the HCS4200.
Electric shock hazard
May cause death or serious injury
The use of a residual current protective device as the sole protection against indirect
contact is forbidden.
Note
Installation in control cabinet
• In these cases, only the LEDs on the front of the device will remain visible during
commissioning. Please take this into consideration for subsequent operation of the
device.
• Ensure that all cables and leads that protrude externally are equipped with adequate
strain relief.
