System components
A complete HCS4200 heating control system includes the following components:
● Central Interface Module (CIM) 4210 with PROFINET / PROFIBUS
● Power Output Module (POM) 4220
● Rack
● Fan module (optional)
● Higher-level controller (e.g. SIMATIC S7-1500 automation system with PROFINET /
PROFIBUS)
● Field PG (optional, for commissioning and diagnostics)
● Industrial PC (optional, e.g. Panel PC SIMATIC IPC 477D)
● Heat emitter array

System configuration
Several POMs can be operated on one CIM. This supports the implementation of centralized
heating applications, for example, in thermoforming, where the heating elements are
implemented in numerous arrays and the modular heating controller is located in a central
control cabinet.
