Monitoring power channels

Power output diagnostics
The Power Output Module (POM) has a diagnostics function to detect faults in the power
circuit. In every half-wave, the status of the power output is requested and checked at a fixed
point in time.
The following faults are detected:
Fault
Heating element / heating ele-
ment cable defective
Triac breakdown
Outgoing fuse tripped or triac
has high resistance
Note
The "triac breakdown" fault is always indicated (provided the mains voltage is connected),
regardless of heating status; all other faults are only indicated when heating is enabled
(heating is "ON").
For more information about the structure and output of diagnostic alarms, see Section
Transfer of diagnostic alarms to the controller (Page 102).
You will find information about the causes of faults and possible rectification measures in
Section Fault reporting through diagnostics data (Page 109).
Suppression of channel errors
Errors are reported for all power outputs/channels as standard. The user can define a list of
channels for which errors will not be reported. This is appropriate for those channels that are
remain unconnected in the equipment.
