4.4 Connecting the Communication Cable

The FL654 supports 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX. Follow the procedure below to connect
the communication cable.
The following describe connection of the cable on the assumption that a UTP cable has
already been provided. Insert the UTP cable connector into the modular connector (LINE)
paying attention to the connector orientation.
About a ferrite core for the transmission cable
It is recommended that a ferrite core be attached to the 10BASE-T transmission cable to
minimize noise effects on the cable.

4.5 Noise Filter for the Power Line

To minimize noise effects from the power line, attach a noise filter or shield transformer to
the power line.
The current capacity of the noise filter or shield transformer must be selected matching the
current capacity of the system in use.
