3-11-2 Floating Blanking Function

● When the floating blanking function is used, the minimum sensing object becomes larger, and
the safe distance also becomes longer. Recalculate the safe distance and install the device ac-
cordingly.
● When the minimum number of beam axes is zero, use the interlock function as required by IEC
62046. When the minimum number of beam axes is zero, the control output (OSSD 1 / 2) turns
ON even there are no obstacles in the sensing area.
This floating function prevents the control output (OSSD 1 / 2) from turning OFF when the num-
ber of blocked beam axes is equal to or less than the set number of beam axes. Use the func-
tion when there is a moving obstacle in the sensing area.

Selections for the floating blanking number of beam axes setting are 0 to 5.
The condition for the control output (OSSD 1 / 2) turning OFF is when the number of blocked
beam axes is over the maximum number of beam axes, or is under the minimum number of
beam axes.
You can specify a valid area (number of valid beam axes number).
You can validate or invalidate the floating blanking function for both end beam axes.
You can have the control output (OSSD 1 / 2) turn ON only when a number of contiguous beam
axes within the set beam axes are blocked.
When the floating blanking function is used, the digital indicator remains OFF when there is a
blocking object in the sensing area, regardless of the intensity of light received.
The minimum sensing object varies depending on the number of set beam axes.
