2-3-4 Preventing Mutual Interference

When multiple sets of the device are used, mutual interference may occur and cause malfunc-
tioning. Use the most suitable means to prevent mutual interference.
When using multiple sets of the device, install so as to avoid mutual interference.
Risk of death or serious injury if mutual interference occurs.

2-3-4-1 Interference Prevention Function

<Line synchronization>
Automatically reduces interference for up to two sets of the device.
<Optical synchronization>
Reduces interference for up to two sets of the device by frequency switching. by frequency
switching. To change frequencies, refer to "3-9 DIP Switch Settings".

2-3-4-2 Series Connection

When the devices are connected in series, mutual interference does not occur.
A maximum of 5 sets can be connected in series (maximum total of 256 beam channels)]
When the devices are connected in series, the control outputs (OSSD1 / 2) can be aggregated
into one set. The control output (OSSD 1 / 2) turns OFF when light is blocked, regardless of
which set is in the light blocked state.
<Reference>
● To change the synchronization method of devices connected in series, set all DIP switches 1 /
2 to the same state. If DIP switches 1 / 2 are not set to the same state on devices connected in
series, the device will change to the lockout state.
● When connecting devices in series, connect emitters to emitters and receivers to receivers. If an
emitter is connected to a receiver, the device will change to the lockout state.

2-3-4-3 Parallel Connection (only line synchronization)

When the synchronization method is line synchronization, 12-core cable and the communica-
tion module SF4D-TM1 (option) can be used to connect up to three devices in parallel without
mutual interference.
The control output (OSSD 1 / 2) turns OFF only on sets in the light-blocked state.
For the wiring method, refer to "2-5-9 Wiring for Function Changes Using Optional Com-
munication Module SF4D-TM1".
For the setting method, refer to the "SF4D-TM1 User's Manual".
