tests included here are not as thorough and exhaustive as the performance tests. This group of tests
only to serve as a method for giving the operator a high degree of confidence that the instrument is
properly. No attempt is made to check the specifications of the instrument.
4-14. These tests are useful for incoming QA or as a first check on an instrument suspected of having a
problem.
4-1 5. Preliminary Procedure
CAUTION
Before the Universal Counter is switched on, it must be set to the
same line voltage as the power source or damage to the instrument
may result. For details, see Power Requirements, Line Voltage Selec-
tion,. Power Cable, and associated warnings and cautions in Section I 1
of the Operating and Programming Manual.
NOTE
To avoid confusion, each test procedure begins with a REINITIALIZATION
of the instrument. This simply means switching the HP 53348 to STANDBY
and then to ON.
Procedure:
