6.4 Backing up/restoring a CompactFlash Card
4. This dialog requires you to select the storage medium (CompactFlash card) to which the
boot system image is to be written.

Note
If your card on the SINUMERIK 828D should become defective and you have already
created a tgz archive of your card, you can import this archive to the newly generated boot
system card via the SINUMERIK 828D power-up menu.
Note
CompactFlash card readers integrated into a directory, rather than into the PG/PC as a
drive, are neither offered for selection nor supported.
The CompactFlash card reader must be integrated into Windows as a drive with drive letters.
