Editing a file externally
To create or process an XML file on an external PC with Windows, use a text editor such as
"TextPad". The "TextPad" text editor supports the "UTF-8" encoding required for the XML
file.
Saving the XML file in UTF-8 coding
1. Select the "Save As" dialog box.
2. Set the character set to "UTF-8".
Entering comments in an XML file
If you are entering comments to explain a program, you must keep the following in mind:
● A comment always begins with the sequence: <!--
● A comment ends with the sequence -->
Example
<!-- Zero point offset: -->
Note
In the comment itself, you can never use two minus signs one right after the other!
Entering comments in an ini file
If you enter a comment in an ini file, start the comment line with a semicolon.

This automatically opens the file in the editor.
