Creating alarm texts

10.1.1

Introduction

This chapter describes the basics and how to include user-specific alarms and message
texts.
For HMI sl, all alarm and message text files are stored on the CompactFlash card: "CF card"
directory, in the "Ing" subdirectory.
"Siemens"
"Add_on"
"OEM"
"User"
The user's own alarm text files can be inserted into the "OEM" (machine manufacturer) and
"User" (end user) areas.
10.1.2

Creating in-house alarm texts

The alarm texts are stored in standard format (".ts" format) by HMI sl.
The ".ts" format is XML-based and can be read and written with the editor of HMI sl.
First create two user-specific files.
Use the following files as model:
File
Alarm text file oem_alarms_deu.ts
Configuration file oem_slaesvcadapconf.xml
Change or complete the alarm texts in the alarm text file.
Inform the "Alarm&Event Service" of the new alarm attribute file in the configuration file.
If you want to add further alarm texts later, use the already created alarm text file and
proceed as described in paragraph: Insert alarm texts.
