Configuring the Secretary's Phone
1. Access the Web configuration page of the secretary's phone.
2. On the Settings > Programmable Keys page, set account 1 to a shared line, as shown in
Figure

3. After the configuration is completed, click Save and Apply.

3.4.5 Configuring LDAP

Function Description

Based on X.500, the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is an application
protocol for reading and editing directories over an IP network. LDAP supports TCP/IP.
For example, in a tree structure, the root is the company name, the company contains
departments, and a department contains employees. The IP phone can search for contacts
based on specific rules. For example, the IP phone searches for contacts whose department
names contain J.
eSpace 6805 LDAP supports the following functions:

Search for contacts:When you enter a string of digits or letters on the LDAP query screen,
the IP phone searches for contacts based on specified rules on the LDAP server and
displays the search result on the screen.
You can select one of these contacts to make a call, or add contacts to the local address
book.

Display the calling party's name:When the IP phone receives an incoming call, the IP
phone searches for the calling number on the LDAP server and displays the contact
information on the screen.


Configuring LDAP for the IP Phone
Before using the LDAP directory, you must first set up the LDAP server (for example,
Windows 2003 Server AD). For details about how to install and set up the Windows 2003
