MESSAGE MANAGER MODE SETTINGS (Only for FAX 1030 Plus)

What Do I Want the Message Manager to Do?

There are six ways to allocate the flexible Message Manager memory, depending upon
which best fits your needs.
You may need to use only one mode on a regular basis, but periodically change modes to
meet high or low message days. The six modes are as follows:
The factory setting is DOC.: OFF/VOICE: ON.

Even when you set DOC.: OFF mode (4), (6), you can use Memory key and Broadcasting as usual.
WHAT IT DOES
Both voice and fax messages will
be stored on a first come first served
basis in the memory. Either Fax
Forwarding or Paging and Remote
Retrieval of voice and fax messages
is available.
Voice calls will be stored in your
external answering machine, which
must be connected to the fax
machine. The EXT TAD will
answer all your calls. Paging for
voice messages is not available.
Voice calls will not be stored.
Fax message will be stored in the
memory.
All available memory in the
Message Manager will be used to
store voice messages. Faxes will
print on paper. You can do Paging
and Remote Retrieval of voice
messages.
Fax messages will be received only
on paper, but will not be stored in
the memory. Voice calls will not be
stored unless an external TAD is
connected to your fax machine.
(See page 7-15)
Fax messages will be received only
on paper, but will not be stored in
the memory. Voice calls will not be
stored in the memory either.
WHEN TO USE
Use this mode when you wish to
store both fax and voice message
in the memory. Erase your messages
frequently to keep memory
available for when you need it.
Use this mode when you need all
your Message Manager memory for
fax messages or if you prefer the
sound quality of a tape recorder for
your voice messages.
Use this mode when you do not
need to receive voice messages.
Use this mode if you wish to
retrieve voice messages from a
remote location, but can wait until
you are at the fax machine to get
your fax messages.
Use this mode if you need more
voice memory than is available in
the Message Manager or if you
prefer the sound quality of a tape
recorder.
Use this mode if you do not want to
use the Message Manager memory
for receiving fax/voice messages, or
if you want to use only Message
Manager Plus mode.
