Refrigeration Merge Kits: Replacement Cover Strip Is
Now Available
If the white cosmetic cover strip that goes between merged refrigeration units
should become damaged, it can now be ordered as a separate part. The part
number is 07630730.

MasterCool Touch Controls Do Not Respond
In some areas of the country, customers may experience the inability to
access the touch controls on the MasterCool
do not respond. This happens randomly and is most likely caused by
transients on the power line. In some areas it may happen so infrequently
that it is not noticed. The immediate way to resolve this is to have the
customer power-cycle the unit using the rocker switch underneath the division
plate.
To permanently resolve the problem, the control electronic must be replaced.
All new control electronics in stock have an updated software ID that
eliminates this problem. Remember that the control electronic is sealed into
the division plate ('tray, operating unit'), so the whole tray needs to be
replaced. See the parts CD for specific part numbers and the technical
documentation for the replacement procedure.
MOST IMPORTANT:
1) When creating the incident notes, use the phrase 'Control Deadlock'
or 'Controls unresponsive'. This will help us track these cases.
2) The division plate must be replaced by a technician who has the
MDU software & hardware. After installation, the serial number must
be programmed into the new division plate or remote vision will stop
working.

All about Master Cool and Icemakers
All Miele refrigeration units that are freezers or contain freezers have an
automatic ice cube maker. All units use the same basic icemaker (the F
1471 uses a different part number because of the dispensing functions).
There is no option to have a freezer compartment without an icemaker.
Ice production
The owners' manual states that the icemaker can produce approx.140 cubes
per day. This is under ideal conditions. The key phrase here is 'approx.'.
There are many variables that can affect the number of ice cubes produced.
The main variable is temperature. The icemaker will not produce any ice if the
temperature is 5°F or higher. Ice production will be much better at -10°F.
The temperature of the incoming water can also have an effect on how long it
takes for the cubes to freeze. The incoming water passes through a filter that
is located inside the core of the condenser. Normally this is a warm area to
